Paris: Lance Armstrong`s team was the only Pro Tour outfit omitted from the entry list for the Tour of Spain, RadioShack sports director Alain Gallopin said on Monday.
"I just received the list. Our application has not been accepted," he told reporters in a telephone interview.
"Lance was not on our list of 15 riders because it would have been silly to ask a 38-year-old to ride two big tours like the Tour de France and the Vuelta," he added.
"But with Andreas Kloeden, Levi Leipheimer, Janez Brajkovic, Haimar Zubeldia and Chris Horner, our team would have been very competitive."
The Tour of Spain is managed by Unipublic, whose main shareholder are ASO, organisers of the Tour de France.
They were not immedialtely available for comment.
