Atwal misses cut at Canadian Open

A late slide put paid to Indian golfer Arjun Atwal`s chances of making the cut in the second round of the RBC Canadian Open.

Vancouver: A late slide put paid to Indian golfer Arjun Atwal`s chances of making the cut as he fell by the wayside after carding a modest even-par 70 in the second round of the RBC Canadian Open.
Atwal`s second round of 70, along with with his first round 79, left him 149, while the cut came at 144. Atwal opened with a bogey, but then had four birdies on sixth, 12th, 15th and 17th before crashing out with a triple bogey.Michael Thompson moved into the lead with a 66 and was tied with Chad Campbell (67). They were both four-under 136. Paul Goydos (69) and Lee Janzen (68) were tied third at 137, while Masters champion Charl Schwartzel (67) was at two-under with Rickie Fowler and first round leader Kris Blanks (71). PTI
