Bagan begins as hot favourites

Fresh from their two consecutive victories over JCT and Mumbai FC, Mohun Bagan, enjoys a clear edge when they face hosts Viva Kerala, in a round seven match in the I-League, at the Jawahar Stadium on Tuesday.

Kannur: Fresh from their two consecutive victories over JCT and Mumbai FC, Mohun Bagan, enjoys a clear edge when they face hosts Viva Kerala, in a round seven match in the I-League, at the Jawahar Stadium here on Tuesday.

Bagan, in the last match against Mumbai FC, had thrashed the latter 2-0, to garner 8 points from six matches they had played so far.

While on the other hand, Viva Kerala has only four points from six matches. They have four draws and lost two matches against JCT and Salgaocar.

With their morale high, Bagan was expected to go all out for a win. Their fortune would depend on the shoulders of Subair Muritala ali, Azim Biswas and Gouranga Dutta, while their goalpost is safe in the hands of a confident Shiltan Paul.
In contrast, Viva had yet to win a match in this edition. The have to be content with drawn matches against Air India, Churchil Brothers, HAL and Pune FC.

Viva will have to come out with something extra, if they want to win the match and collect crucial point for their progress.
