Kolkata: Mohun Bagan coach Karim Bencherifa is concerned about left back NS Manju`s injury while doing national duty in the Nehru Cup but said he has no complaints.
Manju has been ruled out for six weeks after fracturing his left toe in India`s first match in the Nehru Cup against Lebanon in New Delhi. This will virtually ruled him out of the IFA Shield and Durand Cup, besides some matches of the Kolkata Premier League. "The unfortunate injury suffered by Manju is a bit of a setback. But you can do nothing about it. He is unlucky. In last year`s AFC Challenge he got injured as well and was out. Now he is injured and he is out. He is an unlucky boy," Bencherifa told reporters in an interview.Bencherifa said his side has also been doing training for the upcoming tournaments without three other key players -- Rakesh Masih, Deepak Mondal and N Mohan Raj -- who are also with the national team in New Delhi. "We are the most affected. When you have four players from the defence doing national duty, we are finding it difficult to adjust," Bencherifa said. "This has affected our entire defence and it is very hard to deal with the situation. But I am not complaining and blaming anybody -- the AIFF or the national team," the Moroccan was quick to add.
