Beaten Paris St Germain fan dead says minister

Paris: A Paris St Germain fan who fell into a coma after being beaten up by supporters from a rival group last month has died, the France`s Interior minister said on Thursday.

"It is a piece of news that we were all fearing," Brice Hortefeux said.The 38-year-old man, who was not named, was beaten up in a clash between rival groups of PSG fans before a Ligue 1 game against Olympique Marseille in Paris on Feb. 28. On Wednesday, four Paris St Germain supporters were detained in custody for allegedly having played an "active role" in the beating. Since the incident, PSG have stopped selling tickets for away matches.Another man was arrested last Saturday in connection with the attack. Bureau Report
