Canadian wins `most beautiful tweet`

Stephen Fry has revealed the winner of the most beautiful Twitter message ever composed.

London: British television presenter and Twitter enthusiast Stephen Fry has revealed the winner of the "most beautiful Twitter message ever composed" at a literary festival in Wales.

The 127-character tweet read: "I believe we can build a better world! Of course, it`ll take a whole lot of rock, water & dirt. Also, not sure where to put it."

Speaking at the Hay Festival of Literature and the Arts in Hay-on-Wye on Sunday, Fry said the winning entry was written by Marc MacKenzie from Edmonton in Canada (@marcmack) who had submitted over 30 tweets in the competition.

Organisers of the festival had asked competitors to send their best tweets to the festival`s Twitter account.

Fry, whose own Twitter account has more than 1.5 million followers, praised the message for its humour and its reference to the ridiculousness of people saying "we need to build a new world".

"We are stuck with the world we have got," the comedian and actor said.

After hearing of his win, @marcmack wrote on his Twitter page: "It`s official. Thanks @stephenfry & @hayfestival. Still probably need to keep physics job, though".
