for Uttarakhand polls, the kin of candidates contesting in the
elections have taken centre stage in campaigning.

Aruna Khanduri, wife of current chief minister BC
Khanduri, is drumming up support for her husband by camping in
Kotdwar, the seat from where he is contesting.

"I will do my best to see that my husband wins with a
handsome margin," she said.

Similarly, Aarushi Pokhriyal, daughter of former chief
minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, who is contesting from
Doiwala constituency this time, has become a prominent face in
local dailies.

With elections round the corner, family members of
candidates are leading the charge to seek votes.

Suman Kishore, a mother of two, is trying to woo voters
of Jakhanidhar and New Tehri areas in Tehri constituency,
where her husband and Congress leader Kishore Upadhayay is
seeking to score a hat-trick this time.

god. My husband has already won twice from Tehri. With the
blessings of people and almighty, he will be third time
lucky," Kishore, who is campaigning door-to-door seeking
votes, said.

"I hardly get time for my home these days. I remain busy
contacting people and seeking votes," Bhavna Agarwal, the
wife of Congress leader Dinesh Agarwal who is contesting from
Dharampur seat in Dehradun district said.
