CGF CoCom reviews progress made in key functional areas

The Co-Ordination Commission (CoCom) of the Commonwealth Games Federation today reviewed the progress made by the Organising Committee of the 2010 Games in several functional areas on the second day of their visit.

New Delhi: The Co-Ordination Commission (CoCom) of the Commonwealth Games Federation today reviewed
the progress made by the Organising Committee of the 2010 Games in several functional areas on the second day of their visit here on Tuesday. In the first session of the day, the CoCom reviewed the financial status, cash flow linked to major procurement and delivery requirements, procurement schedules and arrangements. Later, it reviewed presentations in functional areas of transport, security, marketing, licencing and communication, overlays, accreditation, sport (competition and operations) and testing and readiness. Yesterday, the venue owners and CoCom members made presentations in six functional areas -- Games venue, venue operations, Games Village, Games Village operations, broadcasting and press operations. Tomorrow, the CoCom will have meetings on more functional areas, including technology and ticketing. They will also have a review meeting with the stakeholders like the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Delhi Government. CoCom will then present its report to the Commonwealth Games Federation President Michael Fennell. CoCom comprises Chairman Austin Sealy (Barbados), Bruce Robertson (Canada), Sharad Rao (Kenya), Lisa Hindson (Australia), Perry Crosswhite (Australia), Chris Jenkins (Wales), Gideon Sam (South Africa) and Mike Hooper (CEO, CGF). The OC was reperesented by its chairman Suresh Kalmadi, vice-chairman Randhir Singh, secretary-general Lalit Bhanot, CEO Jarnail Singh and director-general V K Verma. PTI
