Pune: Defending champions Dempo Sports Club would look to earn full points against Pune FC and stay in hunt for the title when the two sides meet in a crucial I-League match.
While Dempo would be eager to keep their title hopes alive, the hosts would look to end their campaign on a positive note, at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex.
The question is will Pune FC be able to spoil Dempo`s title chances.
Lying seventh on the standings with 30 points, what just might work to Pune`s advantage is that the visitors, having travelled quite a bit in recent times due to their AFC Cup engagements, are expected to be full of tired limbs.
Dempo, with 47 points, are placed fourth and anything less than a win will dash their title hopes.
Pune FC`s target remains a top-5 finish, and also a good last outing in front of the home crowd.
"The game is more about us than them (Dempo SC). For we still have our sights to get that top-5 position," said Pune FC coach Derrick Pereira.
Having fallen out of the title race, Pereira still maintains that his team is as good as any other in the league.
"We are as good as any other team and this includes doing well against teams who have been frontrunners for the title this season."
