Hua Hin: A mid-round slump marred his card as SSP Chowrasia turned in an even-par 72 to slip to the tied 33rd spot after the third round of the Black Mountain Masters golf tournament here today.
Chowrasia has a three-day total of three-under 213 after sending down six birdies against four bogeys and a double bogey.
The other Indian in the fray, Himmat Rai was third from bottom after a nightmarish 77 in the penultimate round took his overall total to five-over 221.
Chowrasia was off to a flyer as he struck four back-to-back birdies after parring the first three holes but soon started a slump which threw his campaign off the track.
A brace of bogeys on the eighth and ninth had him two-under at the turn and it only got worse as he stumbled to a double bogey on the 11th.
Another couple of bogeys had him two-over by the 14th hole before a birdie-birdie finish helped him recover a bit.
Rai, on the other hand, managed four birdies against three double bogeys and a couple of bogeys.
Thai Piya Swangarunporn (68) took the lead with a total of 14-under 202.
