Churchill Bros banking on crowd support against Kuwait SC
Musli Power Churchill Bros is looking for crowd support to start their AFC cup campaign on a winning note when they take on Kuwait Sports Club at Nehru Stadium in Margao on March 16.

Panaji: Musli Power Churchill Bros is looking for crowd support to start their AFC cup campaign on a winning note when they take on Kuwait Sports Club at Nehru Stadium in Margao on March 16.
Churchill Brothers, the national league champion, who failed to qualify for AFC Champions League after losing the play-off last month, will take on Kuwait Sports Club in their opening AFC Cup group ‘B’ match.
“It is our maiden entry in the AFC Cup and we need a good beginning and for that we need crowd support as we play our first match on Tuesday against the defending champion Kuwait Sports Club who will a tough team to beat,” stated Joaquim Alemao, President of the Churchill Bros club.
“We request more fans to turn out in large numbers to cheer our team as we are playing for the first time in this tournament,” said Alemao.“We start the season well, winning the IFA shield and the Durand Cup and are looking to create an impact in this tournament, and for this we need to collect full points against Kuwait SC which will give us more confident to play well in our next away match against Al Hilal of Yemen,” he added.
Kuwait, who are also the local league champions will be arriving tomorrow to get acclimatise to the humid condition. They are a well balance side with two good Brazilian foreigners.
They began this year’s campaign under Brazilian coach Arthur Bernanrdes Ribas Da Silva Filho with a 2-2 draw against Al Hilal of Yemen, third team in the group, at Kuwait Stadium on February 23.
