New Delhi: The inaugural edition of the
Corporate Games will be held in the Capital from November 17
to 21 this year, during which athletes from different
countries will participate in 12 sporting disciplines.

The event will take place at the Siri Fort Sports
Complex.

The concept was launched here today by former sports
administrator and CEO of the Corporate Games, O P Bhatia, in
presence of eminent sportspersons of yesteryears including
badminton ace Dinesh Khanna, cricketer Gurcharan Singh and
former Indian hockey captain Zafar Iqbal.

"The concept of corporate games has been launched on the
pattern of World Corporate Games which takes place every four
years. It is organised in same year when Olympic Games are
held. Last World Corporate games were held in 2008 in England
where around 5000 athletes from all over the world took part
in various disciplines," said Bhatia.

The 12 disciplines in which participants will compete at
the Corporate Games include Athletics (running only),
Badminton, Basketball, Billiards, Cricket, Football, Hockey,
Nine-Hole Golf, Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis and Tennis.

"These games will be free of any age restriction, gender,
nationality, ability or ideology. The Corporate Games are
designed for every day athlete who love health, fitness,
sports and it real values," added Bhatia.

Already some of the big corporate houses like Tata Group
of Industries have evinced interest to take part in these
games.
