CPI delegation to petition President, HM on various issues

The opposition CPI on Thursday said a CPI delegation would submit a detailed petition to the president and union home minister in August on various issues affecting the people during the current Congress rule.

Puducherry: The opposition CPI on Thursday said a CPI delegation would submit a detailed petition to the president and union home minister in August on various issues affecting the people during the current Congress rule.

Speaking to reporters here, CPI local unit legislator N Kalainathan said they would request a CBI probe into various heinous crimes in the Union territory. He alleged that the people were living in constant fear due to the deteriorating law and order situation.

The `infirm policy` adopted by Congress government and also failure of the official machinery here had resulted Medical Council of India declining approval to the government to start its first medical college in the 2010-11 fiscal.
Minister of state V Narayanasamy and the Congress ministry as a whole had failed the students miserably, he said and demanded that steps be taken to procure approval for the
college.
