CWG Technical Committee meets in Delhi

The 2010 Commonwealth Games Technical Conduct Committee met here today amid criticism of the organisers` lethargic preparation for next year`s multi-discipline event.

New Delhi: The 2010 Commonwealth Games Technical Conduct Committee met here today amid criticism of the organisers` lethargic preparation for next year`s multi-discipline event.Apart from Organising Committee (OC) chairman Suresh Kalmadi, all member of the Games Technical Conduct Committee
(GTCC), chaired by KP Singh Deo, met at the Games Secretariat to discuss a host of issues pertaining to the Games. After observing two minutes`s silence to condole the death of Table Tennis Federation of India secretary Moolchand Chowhan`s death, the Organising Committee made a detailed presentation on its planning for international test events between January and June 2010, the national trial games in July and the Commonwealth Games from October 3 to 14. The OC proposal for holding the national trial games from July 7 to 11, 2010 was discussed and it is expected to be a perfect assessment of Games Village services, accreditation, protocol, catering, transport, medical, doping, technology, security and the operation of dedicated lane from the Games Village to the competition venues and back. The next meeting of the GTCC would be held immediately after Diwali to take stock of the progress, chairman KP Singh Deo said. Bureau Report
