Delhi demolish Himachal 4-1 in Santosh Trophy

Delhi notched up their second straight win in the Santosh Trophy football tournament, defeating Himachal Pradesh 4-1.

Nagaon (Assam): Delhi notched up their second straight win in the Santosh Trophy football tournament, defeating Himachal Pradesh 4-1 in cluster VI league match on Saturday.

Delhi`s vice captain Monu Choudhary put his side ahead in the 36th minute through a spot kick, awarded by referee after forward Kamal Rawat was brought down by Himachal`s defender inside the box.

Midfielder Bhuvan Joshi made it 2-0 in the 45th minute.
After the breather, Rawat increased the lead by 3-0 in 53rd minute. Himachal reduced the margin to 1-3 in the 55th minute through Rakesh.

Left full back Vikas Rawat completed the tally for Delhi with a clinical goal in the 78th minute.
Delhi will next play Orissa on May 16.
