Dempo signs deal with Danish club FC Midtjylland

India`s top football club Dempo, winner of two I-League titles, has entered into a partnership with Denmark`s FC Midtjylland to develop young elite players.

Mumbai: India`s top football club Dempo, winner of two I-League titles, has entered into a partnership with Denmark`s FC Midtjylland to develop young elite players.
Dempo, boasting of seven national team members, has now set sights on higher goals in Asian football, and this partnership is expected to be a step in that direction, a release said. The partnership activities will be coordinated by the International sports management company, New World Consulting, which has been working closely with the two clubs over the past few months. FC Midtjylland has given a commitment to help provide technical knowhow, knowledge of marketing and administration as well as strong focus on youth development to raise the level of Dempo in Asia.FC Midtjylland has an exceptional track record in youth development and its academy is a factory for producing talented players who go on to prove their mettle in bigger clubs all over Europe. In addition, the Danish club has also been able to produce players by setting up an incredibly successful youth academy in Nigeria, the release added.The Goa-based club`s chairman, Shrinivas Dempo, expressed excitement over this new initiative. "I am certain that this partnership will lead to a new era of cooperation that will eventually contribute to greater development of Indian football," he said. PTI
