Dowie to be named Hull`s new manager

Hull City will name Iain Dowie as their new manager later on Wednesday, two days after the Premier league club sacked Phil Brown.

London: Hull City will name Iain Dowie as their new manager later on Wednesday, two days after the Premier league club sacked Phil Brown.
A club spokesman confirmed Dowie would be presented at a news conference at 1100 GMT. Dowie, who managed Crystal Palace and Charlton in the Premier League and also had a brief spell as Alan Shearer`s assistant at Newcastle United last season, has nine games to try and steer Hull away from the relegation zone.They are in 19th place with 24 points, three points away from safety. Hull play bottom side Portsmouth on Saturday. Bureau Report
