Puducherry: Attracted by the Hindu marriage
custom, a pair from Denmark today entered into wedlock in the
traditional custom amidst chanting of `mantras` in the
premises of an ancient temple here.
The 57-year-old Karsten (bridegroom) and 63-year-old Ulla
came to India three months back for an Ayurvedic treatment.
While undergoing treatment in some clinics in Kerala and
Chennai, they came to know about Hindu marriage rituals and
decided to enter into wedlock in the traditional custom,
though they had married earlier in their country as per
Christian traditions, Pierre, an associate of Karsten said.

The wedding, amidst chanting of vedic mantras by Sanskrit
scholars led by priest Karthikeyan, was held in the premises
of Sri Vedapureeswarar temple.
Though the couple had married as per Hindu marriage custom,
they would continue to be Christians, Pierre said, adding,
they were scheduled to return to Denmark next week.
