Kolkata: East Bengal set up a final clash with Sporting Clube de Goa after beating Pune FC 2-0 in a final league encounter in the Under-19 tournament for I-League teams.
Playing on their home turf, East Bengal scored through Pankaj Moula (42nd minute) and Rajib Ghoroi (74th) to finish with three points but they made the cut with a favourable goal equation.
East Bengal`s striker Moula continued with his good show in the tournament as he opened the scoring in the 42nd minute.
After the changeover, Ghoroi completed the tally in the 74th minute.
The win meant East Bengal finished with three teams along with Pune FC and Dempo.
Champions of the I-League, Dempo bowed out by means of a goal difference (-2), while Pune and East Bengal finished tied on +1.
But East Bengal sealed the final berth by means of having scored more number of goals.
East Bengal had scored five, compared to Pune FC`s tally of three.
