New Delhi: The Election Commission has sought
BJP`s comments on the promise in its manifesto for Uttar
Pradesh poll of construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya
following complaints that the party has "violated" the model
code of conduct by making the promise.
A number of organisations have complained to the poll body
for restraining BJP from raising the issue of Ram temple
Organisations like Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha, Akhil
Bhartiya Sant Samiti and Sant Mahasabha have complained to the
Election Commission asking it for directing BJP to remove the
poll promise of Ram temple construction from its manifesto.
