I am a humble person, says Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that the real Ronaldo is nothing like everyone’s favourite fantasy footballer.

London: Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that the real Ronaldo is nothing like everyone’s favourite fantasy footballer.
The Real Madrid ace said that many people look at him and think they know him but they don’t. “This is the real me. I am a humble person, a feeling person. A person who cares about others, who wants to help others. And I want to be involved in doing that for many, many, many years,” the Sun quoted him as saying. The footie star turns 28 on Tuesday but has already ensured that helping others is a major part of his life. He was so moved by the plight of people whose lives had been shattered by the Indonesian tsunami in December 2004 that he visited the area himself. And since then, he has done more and more to help others, albeit much of it going under the radar. Now he is about to embark on his biggest challenge of all - as a Global Ambassador for Save The Children. Ronaldo, who has a two-year-old son named after him, said that when he learned that one in seven kids around the world goes to bed hungry each night, he jumped at the chance to get involved. He added that his father always taught him that when you help other people, then God will give you double. He added that he is proud of what he has done, and doesn’t need to come out and say that he has helped this and that, because God knows everything and he feels very comfortable about that. Now as a Save The Children Global Ambassador, his role is to lead an upcoming campaign to combat hunger and starvation among the world’s worst-off children. ANI
