Elephant ride for Tejaswini in Kolhapur

Tejaswini Sawant, who became the first Indian woman to win gold medal at the World Shooting Championship in Munich returned to her home town Kolhapur today amid jubilation all round.

Kolhapur: Tejaswini Sawant, who became the first Indian woman to win gold medal at the World Shooting Championship in Munich returned to her home town Kolhapur today amid jubilation all round.
She was taken in a grand procession on an elephant. The procession began from the famous Mahalaxmi Temple with large number of people participating in it. Although Kolhapur is known to churn out sportpersons, Tejaswini is the first woman from the city to win gold medal at a world event. PTI
