Former Orissa footballer passes away

Rourkela: Former footballer Madhabacharya
Purohit, popularly known as Madhab, died following prolonged
illness, family sources said on Monday.

Madhab (59) passed away at a private hospital in
Bhubaneswar yesterday.

He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

Madhab represented Orissa in several events and also
played Santosh Trophy for the state.

He was working as an employee of Mahanadi Coalfields
Limited (MCL) at Brajarajnagar.

Sundargarh District Sports Association condoled his
death and observed silence during the district football league
matches.
