Four new records set on first day

Thiruvananthapuram: Four new records were set on the first-day of the 63rd Senior National Aquatic

Championship-2009 for Men and Women that began here today. D`souza Aaron Agnel (Karnataka), in freestyle 200-mt, by clocking 01:53:36 (record time 01:54:38)and Sandeep Srjwal (Police), in 100-mt breast stroke with a timing of 01:04:26 (record 01:04:36) were the new record makers in individual events. Karnataka team in men and women section set new records in 4x100 mt freestyle relay--timing 03:37:63 and 04:08:63 respectively. In women`s Open section breast stroke, Gauri Desari and Jyotsna Pansare from Maharastra came first in 100-mt breast stroke and 100-mt back stroke respectively. About 800 swimmers from various parts of the country are participating in the championship. Bureau Report
