New Delhi: Saurav Ghosal fought his heart out but eventually ran out of steam against top seed Ramy Ashour of Egypt who overcame the spirited Indian in straight games in the pre-quarterfinal of the Sky Open Squash tournament in Cairo.

Unseeded Ghosal, ranked 27th in the world, pushed the Egyptian opponent to the limits before going down 5-11, 8-11, 7-11 in 35 minutes at the Sky Petrosport Club yesterday.
Ghosal had earlier defeated 16th seeded Malaysia`s Mohd Azlan Iskandar 11-9, 4-11, 11-8, 11-2 in the first round on the opening day of the USD 1,50,000 PSA Super Series championship.
That was Kolkata-boy`s first success in a Super Series event this year, who has become India`s highest-ranked player of all-time.
