Gujarat Elections 2012: Cong leader doubts high voting in tribal areas

Former Union Minister and president of tribal cell of Gujarat Congress on Wednesday questioned the high polling figures from the tribal belt in the Assembly polls.

Vadodara: Former Union Minister and president of tribal cell of Gujarat Congress on Wednesday questioned the high polling figures from the tribal belt in the Assembly polls.
Talking to reporters here, Rathwa said more than 30 to 40 per cent of the tribal population had migrated in search of jobs, and in view of this, 70 to 80 per cent polling was not possible in Chhota Udepur, Nandod, Dediapada, Netrang and other areas. Tribal constituencies had registered only 50 per cent voting in 2007, he pointed out. Tampering with Electronic Voting Machines in the tribal areas could not be ruled out, he said. PTI
