Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday interacted with supporters at a New Year get-together in his constituency Maninagar, The Indian Express reported.
Speaking ahead of the forthcoming Assemble Elections, Modi said, “You work in Maninagar for the victory of one candidate here and I will work for victory of the remaining 181 seats... Let us see who wins this race of victory margins.”
The meeting in Isanpur area of southern Ahmedabad was attended by, among others, 2,000 party workers and supporters.
The daily reported that Modi indicated during the meeting he could seek re-election from Maninagar.
“You all know better than me how to win an election,” he told them.
In the 2007 polls, Modi was elected from Maninagar with a victory margin of around 75,000 votes over Dinsha Patel of Congress.
