Bangkok: India on Saturday crashed out of the Yamaha ASEAN U-13 football tournament after losing 2-5 to
Vietnam in their second match on Saturday. India, who were beaten 0-2 in the opener against Thailand A, once again put up a sloppy show as the youngster failed to match with the Vietnamese rivals agility during the hour-long match. The Indian team were pegged back by Vietnam`s attacking display as they struck in the 8th, 19th and 23rd minute. For India Premananda Singh struck twice during dying moments of the first half. However after the change of ends, Vietnam scored a couple more to wipe out any chances that India were to have in the tournament. "I am very disappointed with the result. We could have won it after making it 2-3 in the first half. The guys were outdone by the agility and fitness of the Vietnam players. The midfield was weak, I just cannot imagine such a scoreline," a visually disappointed team manager Arnab Bhattacharjee said. India participated in the tournament for the first time after the Kolkata boys qualified in the national qualification tournament. PTI
