Kolkata: Pailan Indian Arrows lost 0-1 to Bengal in a truncated friendly match on Sunday.

The AIFF side, Indian Arrows, who struck a five-year sponsorship deal with the Pailan Group went down in the first half itself when Francis Xavier gave the Santosh Trophy champions the lead.

Without their star players Jeje Lalpeklhua, Raju Gaikwad and Lalrindika Ralte, the Pailan Indian Arrows played under pressure as the Bengal team held most of the possession in the first half.

Shabbir Ali-coached Bengal also played without their two star strikers Budhiram Tudu and Branco Cardozo, but Xavier`s half-hearted effort from the left flank did the trick, thanks to some sloppy work by the AIFF outfit goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh.

The lanky Singh allowed the ball slip in between in his hands to getpast the goalline for Bengal`s winning moment.
The Arrows tried their best to restore parity after the cross over but Bengal managed to held on to their lead.

The AIFF team also launched a theme song -- `De Dana Goal` -- while signing the deal with Pailan Group.

The Arrows, who finished ninth in the last I-League, will hence shift base to Kolakta, joining three other teams Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and United SC.
