Ivanovic retires hurt in Cincinnati semi-final
Ana Ivanovic was forced to retire in the first set of her Cincinnati Open semi-final.
Cincinnati: A tearful Ana Ivanovic was forced to retire with an ankle injury early in the first set of her Cincinnati Open semi-final against Kim Clijsters on Saturday.
Ivanovic pulled up as she made a return and appeared to hurt her ankle. After receiving extensive treatment she returned to the court but was clearly in pain and was forced to retire.
Clijsters will face the winner of the all-Russian semi-final between Maria Sharapova and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
