Sea Island: Jeev Milkha Singh carded a steady three-under 67 for a share of the 11th spot while Arjun Atwal took the tied 58th position with an even-par 70 in the opening round of the McGladrey Classic golf tournament here.
Jeev`s round comprised five birdies against a couple of bogeys. The 10th tee starter was off the blocks with a birdie on the 11th but stumbled to bogeys on the 14th and 16th.
He avoided being over-par at the turn after picking up a birdie on the 18th.
In the front-nine, Jeev sent down three birdies -- on the second, seventh and ninth -- to round off a reasonably good day.
In contrast, Atwal had a topsy-turvy day which included four birdies and equal number of bogeys.
At the top, American John Rollins grabbed a one-stroke lead after carding a blemish-free seven-under 63 that comprised seven birdies.
Rollins` compatriots Troy Merritt and David Toms shared the second spot.
