Kuhar takes sole lead in Haryana Open golf

Teenage Abhishek Kuhar became the only player to record a par round for the second day running as he took a two-shot lead in the Haryana Open Amateur golf here today.

as he took a two-shot lead in the Haryana Open Amateur golf here today. The 16-year-old is now five-over 221 following rounds of 77, 72 and 72. Local lad Kuhar is now two clear of RCGC golfer Surya Jai Prakash (73) and five ahead of Delhi Golf Club`s Arshad Ali (77). Surya Jai and Ali had shared the lead with Kuhar at midway stage of the tournament. Rakesh Kumar, who had a stunning three-under 33 on front nine dropped to 40 on the back nine for a 73 that put him in fourth place at 228. He was followed by Jehangir (75) and Kunal Bhatia (80). The top 32 players from this event will qualify for the IGU-sanctioned NCR Cup and the top 50 for the Norther India Amateur. PTI
