Live bomb belonging to WW II era recovered in MP
The bomb was found during the digging of a well in a field at Pathariya Jaat village in MP.
Sagar: A live bomb possibly dating back
to the World War-II period was found from a digging site here, police said Thursday.
The bomb was found yesterday during the digging of a well in a field at Pathariya Jaat village, about 5 kms from here.
City Superintendent of Police, Amrit Lal Meena said
that the police received information about a bomb like
substance in the field of villager Ganpat Jaat following which
Army Bomb Disposal Squads were called.
They disposed off it safely after covering it with sand
sacks, Meena said.
A member of the squad, on condition of anonymity said the
bomb, made out of an old technique weighed 15 kg and was
nearly one-and-half foot long with a 14-inch diameter.
He said had the bomb exploded, it could have caused
damage in an area of 500 square metres.
