Jamshedpur: Malabar United of Kerala and Kenkre Football Club of Maharashtra were locked in a goalless draw in a keenly contested match of the AIFF 2nd Division
I-league qualifying round, at JRD Tata Sports complex here on Friday.
Kenkre took control of the proceedings in the last quarter but their back-to-back forays into the Malabar citadel were successfully thwarted by the rival defence.
With this encounter, Malabar United had seven points with one win and four draws. Kenkre too had seven points from two win, two loss and one draw with both teams having one more match to complete the league engagement.
Kenkre FC will take on Denzong Boys Football Club, Sikkim in their last league tie on Sunday while Malabar United will meet Josco Football Club on Monday.
Earlier, Mohammedan Sporting, Kolkata with 14 points (four wins and two draws) sailed into the main draw of the qualifying round to be played in Shillong later.
Ar-Hima Football Club, Meghalaya with two win, two loss and a draw had seven points and will take on Goa`s Sesa Football Academy on Sunday to complete the league engagement.
