Mankad-Shamasdin in quarters of Morocco ATP Challenger

Harsh Mankad and his Canadian partner Adil Shamasdin reached the doubles quarter-final of the ATP Challenger event in Tanger, Morocco without playing a ball after their opponents handed them a walkover.

The top seeds were up against Slovenian Blaz Kavcic and Czech Dusan Lojda, who opted out of the first round contest due to the former’s general fatigue. Mankad and Shamasdin will take on Belgian Steve Darcis and Dominik Meffert of Germany in the last eight round. Steve and Dominik saw off the challenge of local wild card holders Mohammed Saber and Mehdi Ziadi 6-3, 2-6, 10-2 in their opening round. No Indian player is competing in the singles competition of the event. PTI
