Maya fires fresh salvo at Congress

Coming down heavily on the Congress, UP CM and BSP supremo Mayawati alleged the maximum black money in foreign banks was that of Congress leaders.

Orai: Coming down heavily on the Congress,
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BSP supremo Mayawati on Saturday alleged the maximum black money in foreign banks was that of
Congress leaders.

Addressing an election meeting here, she dared Congress
president Sonia Gandhi and her party`s general secretary Rahul
Gandhi to make public names of those having accounts in the
foreign banks.

Both did nothing to bring back the black money stashed
abroad, Mayawati said.

She alleged several scams had taken place at the Centre
and many scamsters were still in the Congress party.
Alleging the Congress was responsible for backwardness
of UP, Mayawati wondered how that party could change the face
of the state in five years when it had nothing during its long
rule at the Centre.

Most of the time, it was the Nehru-Gandhi family which
had ruled the country, she said adding "when they could not do
anything during this period, how can they develop the state in
five years."

Listing achievements of her government, Mayawati accused
the Union government of not providing assistance for welfare
and development schemes pertaining to the state.

Criticising the Samajwadi Party, she alleged goonda
elements had ruled the roost when the former was in power in
the state.
Targeting the BJP, she said it did nothing concrete to
bring back the black money when it was in power.
