Minor girl kidnapped, gangraped in Jamnagar, Mumbai
Jamnagar: Mother of a 17-year-old girl
has registered a complaint saying that her daughter was
allegedly kidnapped by seven persons and gangraped several
times over a period of one week, police said on Sunday.
According to police complaint registered yesterday, the
girl was gangraped between August 21 and August 26 in
Jamnagar and Mumbai by seven persons several times.
On August 21, the girl, who lived with her father here,
boarded a private bus from the city to go to meet her mother
living in Ahmedabad, the complaint said.
In the bus, she met one Mehul who convinced her to come
with him to Ahmedabad in a car, but instead, he took the girl
to Jayant Society in the city and held her captive for the
In the complaint the girl`s mother said that while in
captivity her daughter was gangraped by Mehul and four of his
friends. They also video-recorded the act using mobilephone of
the five persons, the complaint said.
The girl was later drugged and made to board a private
bus to Ahmedabad, it added.
On her way back to Jamnagar the girl again bumped into
the Mehul and his friends who took her to Mumbai promising
But while in Mumbai she was gangraped for a number of
times by the same men, and another one called Michael.
The police complaint was registered by the girl`s mother
at the women`s police station in Ahmedabad, after she came
back from Mumbai.
"Further investigation in the matter is being conducted
by the Jamnagar district police as the case has been
transferred to them, where the place of offence is located,"
Assitant Commissioner of Police Usha Rada, of the Ahmedabad
Women`s police station said.
Meanwhile, five persons including Mehul are being
questioned regarding the incident, Jamnagar police said,
adding that further probe is on in the matter.
