Mukerjee International rating Chess tourney from April 29

Nagpur: Maintenance Command of the Air Force will be conducting Third Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee Memorial All India Open FIDE International Rating Chess Tournament from April 29 to May 6, said Air Vice-Marshal Ramesh Rai, Senior Air Administrative Staff officer (SAASO), said.

Grand masters, women grand masters, international masters and other top players from all over the country will take part in this mega event which carries a total cash prize of Rs four lakh, Rai told a press conference.He said there will be cash prizes for players in various categories such as best city player, best woman player, best veteran, best sub-junior and best unrated and best defence wards including top prize of Rs 81,000.Air Marshal Mukerjee trophy will be given to the winner. The runner up will receive Rs 51,000 and third place winner Rs 35,000. Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) and State Bank are the sponsors of the event, Rai added. PTI
