Washington: President Barack Obama is leading over Republican contender Mitt Romney in two of the biggest swing states of Florida and Ohio, a new poll has found.

According to the Wall Street Journal, NBC News and Marist College Polls, Obama has a six-point lead over Romney in Ohio and a two-point lead in Florida.

The surveys found that Obama has support from nearly 49 percent respondents to Romney’s 47 percent in Florida.

Obama held a firmer lead in Ohio, 51 percent to 45 percent, unchanged from mid-October, where the relatively more buoyant economy and the federal bailout of the auto industry appear to have solidified his support among a wide swath of voters, Politico reports.

In both the states, Obama got high marks from all sides for his management of recovery efforts after the storm Sandy hit the East Coast.
In both Florida and Ohio, even a majority of Republican voters approved of Obama`s handling of the storm`s aftermath.
