Bhopal: Congress general secretary Digvijay
Singh on Wednesday refuted the reports that the party high command
had summoned him seeking explanation on his controversial
statement on Osama bin Laden.
"I strongly and totally deny those reports, according to
which the Congress High Command was not happy with the
statement I had made on Laden`s burial at sea," the Congress
general secretary said.
Media reports here said that Singh was in trouble
following his statement that the US forces should not have
buried Laden at sea.
Some reports also said that Singh might have made the
statement with an eye on the Muslim votes during next year`s
Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections.
