Cincinnati: Leander Paes and his Czech partner Lukas Dlouhy crashed out in the second round of the USD three million ATP Cincinnati Masters here after they were
stunned by Spanish duo of David Ferrer and Tommy Robredo. The third seed Indo-Czech pair looked out-of-sorts in the match as Ferrer and Robredo comprehensively beat them 2-6, 4-6 to qualify for the quarterfinals. The match against Paes-Dlouhy pair was an easy proposition for Ferrer, who lost in the singles second round to World No 1 Roger Federer, and Robredo, who was upset in the opening round by Jeremy Chardy, as they capitalised on three out of six break points they earned to pocket the encounter in just 56 minutes. Ferrer and Robredo will next face eight seeded Polish-Austrian pair of Lukas Kubot and Oliver Marach, who defeated wildcard holders John Isner and Sam Querrey of the US 4-6, 6-2, 10-8. Meanwhile, the other Indian in the fray, Mahesh Bhupathi and his partner Mark Knowles have already advanced to the quarterfinals of the event and the fourth seed Indo-Bahamian combination will take on French duo of Michael Llodra and Jo-Wilfried Songa.
