Puducherry: Govt `victimises’ govt staff
V Narayanasamy said Congress would launch a State-wide agitation if the Rangasamy-led All-India NR Congress Ministry in Puducherry does not refrain from political vendetta of government staff.
Puducherry: Minister of State for PMO and Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy on Sunday said the opposition Congress would launch a State-wide agitation if the Rangasamy-led All-India NR Congress Ministry in Puducherry does not refrain from `victimisation` and political vendetta of government staff.
Felicitating top rankers of public exams at a function here, he described the government action as `unethical` and sought to know why more than 1000 daily wage workers appointed in the previous Congress regime in government undertakings and in PWD had been retrenched.
"All of them should be reinstated in three or four days or else Congress will launch agitations for justice," he said.
The function was organised by State youth Congress on the occasion of AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi`s 41st birthday celebrations.
Narayanasamy opined that Rahul Gandhi would emerge as Prime Minister in future as he was always `poor friendly`.
He claimed Rahul Gandhi`s "timely intervention" in the farmers` agitation in Uttar Pradesh against Chief Minister Mayawati`s `anti-farmer` policies had prevented her government from taking repressive measures against them.
