Punjab CM, Dy CM condemn attack on religious sect in Vienna

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his Deputy Sukhbir Singh Badal condemned the attack on a religious sect in Vienna on Sunday, terming the incident as "an outrage against humanity".

The Chief Minister asked the Ministry of External Affairs
to take up the matter with its counterpart in Austria to
ensure strict action against the guilty.

The duo also appealed to citizens to maintain peace and
communal harmony. "No one would be allowed to vitiate the hard
earned atmosphere of peace, amity at any cost," the Chief
Minister, in a statement, said.

At least 11 people were injured, nine of them seriously
when two groups of Sikh worshippers clashed with knives and
handgun at a gurdwara in Vienna today, Vienna police said.

The fight erupted following a dispute over the sermon
given by a priest from Shri Guru Ravidas Sabha.

At least six men, one wielding a gun and the others
knives, attacked Sant Niranjan Dass, the Dera head, and
others.
