New Delhi: The PWD, MCD and NDMC have been
asked to specify their action plans to upgrade and repair the
pot-holed roads in their areas by the month-end in view of
next year`s Commonwealth Games in the national capital.
Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday at a review meeting
directed the agencies to ensure that roads are upgraded as per
well-defined standards in view of the forthcoming games.
"Dikshit has further asked these agencies to chalk out
their action plan by September-end so that phase-wise
implementation could be monitored at the level of the Chief
Secretary Rakesh Mehta," a Delhi Government official said.
To get apprised of the road upgradation and check
deficiencies, the Chief Minister has decided to personally
take round on different roads on daily basis.
