Unnao: Congress` key campaigner Rahul
Gandhi on Saturday trained his guns on the BSP and the SP saying
these parties were making false promises and changing colours
in every election.

"In 2009, the SP had said it was against the use of
computers and English even though Mulayam Singh Yadav own
son works on computers and talks in English. Now in their manifesto, the SP has decided to distribute
free computers," Gandhi told a string of election meetings in
Unnao and Hardoi.

"This is a poll time and they will even agree to change
the colour of the sky if you want. The Congress does not
believe in making scores of promises. But, we do promise that
we will provide a government that works for the common man,"
he said.

SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and BSP`s Mayawati flayed
the decision of the Congress to give 4.5 per cent reservation
to minorities though both the leaders had not done anything
for Muslims, the Congress general secretary said.

"Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mayawati have said the 4.5 per
cent quota is less. Both have been Chief Ministers more than
once, so what stopped them from giving more reservation to
Muslims.

"Now the Congress has done it, they are criticising us,"
he said adding these parties were making false promises and
changing colours.

"On the other hand, the Congress always makes policies
that are all-inclusive," Gandhi said.

"We want to include all sections in the progress whereas
these parties work for only 10 per cent of the population and
exclude 90 per cent. This explains why Uttar Pradesh has not
made the required progress in the past 22 years," he said.

"Leaders come out during elections, give speeches, make
promises and then shut doors on the public after becoming
Chief Ministers."
