Raikkonen out of Spanish Rally after pre-race crash

Spain : Former Formula One world champion Kimi Raikkonen is out of the Rally of Spain after crashing his Citroen in the pre-race shakedown on Thursday.

The Finn`s car rebounded across the road and rolled at least once after he clipped a left-hand corner on a tarmac section of the three-kilometre route, damaging the roof section of the roll cage which will prevent him from starting the race on Friday. Raikkonen and co-driver Kaj Lindstrom escaped from the crash without injury and drove the car back to Citroen mechanics. The Spanish race is the penultimate rally of the season and Raikkonen is 10th in the standings. Bureau Report
