Gangtok: The state government on Wednesday lifted the restriction on sale of petrol and diesel in Sikkim in the wake of the decision of the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha (GJM) to relax its blockade of the national highway 31A indefinitely.
In view of relaxation of banch called by the GJM, the
restriction on the rationing of motor spirit and high speed
diesel stands suspended with immediate effect until further

The state government had imposed restriction on the sale
of petrol and diesel in the state on July 15 last under which
the retailers were directed sell five litre petrol and 10
litre diesel per person after the GJM had called for the bandh
of all road routes in Darjeeling Hills, including the NH-31A -
the life line of Sikkim.
