Reddy ends seeded players challenge in junior national tennis

Andhra`s Sri Vaishnavi Peedi Reddy scalped two Delhi players, fifth seeded Jasmine Kaur Bajaj in the Under-14 category and 11th seeded Aruvhi Sharma in the Under-18 category.

Chennai: Andhra`s Sri Vaishnavi Peedi Reddy scalped two Delhi players, fifth seeded Jasmine Kaur Bajaj in
the Under-14 category and 11th seeded Aruvhi Sharma in the Under-18 category, to progress into the respective singles quarterfinals of the Adidas MCC National Junior Hard Court tennis championship here today. Vaishnavi was at her best in the morning match against Jasmine to wrap up her challenge 6-4, 6-0 and then put aside the resistance of Aruvhi 6-3, 7-5. Likewise, two other unseeded Under-14 stars Rimpledeep Kaur (Pun) and Harnoor Kaur Mann (Chd) highlighted the day`s matches by disposing off Padmapriya (Kar-13th seed) 6-0, 6-0 and eighth seeded Mehak of (Chd) 6-1, 6-4 in Under-18 respectively. Third seeded Theertha Iska of Andhra in under-14 trailed 2-5 and conceded her match to unseeded Seeulee Upadhjya of Orissa. In the boys under-18 section, fifth seeded Sai Karthick of Andhra was eliminated by Tamil Nadu`s Ramkumar Ramanathan at 7-5, 6-4. Bureau Report
