Mumbai, April 08: Finally there is some good news for actor Sanjay Duatt and Manyata. A Mumbai Sessions Court on Wednesday has dismissed the appeal filed by Meraj, who is Manyata’s ex-husband, asking for take Sanjay-Manyata’s marriage as illegal.
Meraj had been claiming that he was Manyata’s husband at the time she married Sanjay.

The Sessions Court overruled the previous order by a lower court that had cancelled the couple’s marriage on grounds that Manyata had not obtained a divorce from her first husband --Meeraj-ur-Rehman. Due to which she cannot marry Sanjay Dutt.

The Sessions Court has also upheld that Manyata is legally divorced and is free to marry again.

The couple had a court marriage in Goa on Feb 7 2008. Ever since then it has been a constant subject of debate. The marriage ran into a number of legal issues as it was said to be in violation of Muslim Personal Law (MPL).
