Saurav, Ritwik to lead Indian challenge in Punj Lloyd Masters

Mumbai: Top squash players Saurav Ghoshal and Ritwik Bhattarcharya will lead Indian challenge in the newly

incepted PSA Platinum Event, the Punj Lloyd PSA Masters 2009 scheduled to be held from December 5-10. While the world number 34 Ghoshal has received an automatic entry based on his ranking, Bhattacharya, currently ranked 76th, has been given a wildcard entry. Ghoshal and Bhattacharya will rub shoulders with top players like Karim Darwish, Amr Shabana, Ramy Ashour, Thierry Lincou and many others. The cream of the international squash fraternity, with as many as 26 out of the top 30 players, will be seen in action during the tournament in the Bombay Gymkhana. The format is similar to that of a Grand Slam tournament in tennis, with players qualifying on the basis of their international rankings. The tournament will be played in an All Glass Court, also know as the Thunderdome. PTI
